Gig Etiquette

When you go to a gig, there are certain standards of behaviour to comply with in the hopes of coming out alive and relatively uninjured. Let's face it; if everyone dives headfirst into the screaming melee, someone could get seriously squashed.

The first rule is don't sit down! It's dark, right? And most everyone else is standing, so if you sit, expect to be trodden on or fallen over by other people. And they'll be carrying stuff like beer that will undoubtedly fall on you too. Don't sit on someone's shoulders either. Those behind you paid out good money to see the band, not your back.

Love the song? Let the pros sing it. No one wants to hear you singing their favourite song, no matter how good your voice is. Again, they've paid to hear the band members sing, so shut your mouth or use it to scream when no one is singing.

Keep your elbows to yourself. Everyone is squashed and pushing, not just you. Only so many bodies can fit in front. Hang loose and leave the agro at home. You came for a good time, remember? So did everyone else; so do what you can to have it.
